What to Do If You Find Termites

Minimise Disturbance

Termites are shy and can retreat underground if disturbed. They may then reappear in a 360-degree radius around your property.

Avoid DIY Treatments

Do not use store-bought insect sprays or fly sprays. These may kill the termites you see but will scare the rest deeper into your property, causing them to reappear nearby, undetected.

Call the Experts

Contact Surekill Pest Control if you have signs of active termite infestation. Our technicians have in-depth knowledge of termite activity and will create a thorough eradication program tailored to your home's needs.

The Termite Baiting Process

At Surekill, our termite baiting process targets and eliminates active termite colonies directly, providing a safe and effective way to eradicate the destructive pests.

Step1: Assessment and Bait Placement

Our Technician will carefully inspect areas of active termite infestation. Once identified, we will place specially designed bait directly in these locations where termites are actively feeding. This bait is made from a material termites find irresistible and contains a slow-acting ingredient that affects their ability to survive.

Step 2: Termite Feeding and Colony Spread

Termites feed on the bait and unknowingly carry it back to their colony. Since the active ingredient works gradually, it gives termites time to share the bait with the rest of the colony. This ensures that it reaches the queen and other essential members of the colony.

Step 3: Colony Elimination

As more termites consume the bait, the colony begins to weaken and eventually collapse. The queen's elimination ensures the colony cannot repopulate, completely eradicating the infestation.

Step 4 - Checking Progress

Our Technicians will follow up with regular checks to ensure that the termites are continuing to feed on the bait. Adjustments may be made to maintain bait placement in areas of ongoing activity until the colony is fully eliminated.

The Termite Foaming Process

Step1: Initial Assessment and Inspection

Our Technician will conduct a thorough inspection to identify the source of termite activity. This includes checking areas of high risk such as walls, foundation, and subfloor areas. Once active termite nests or tunnels are located, the treatment plan will be developed.

Step 2: Application of Termite Foam

We then apply a specially formulated termite foam to the affected areas. The foam expands into the timber and cracks, reaching hidden termite colonies. This foam contains a highly effective termite control agent that is absorbed by the termites when they come into contact with it.

Step 3: Termite Contact and Colony Spread

As termites make contact with the foam, the active ingredient disrupts their nervous system. They carry the foam back to the colony, unknowingly spreading it to others, including the queen. This helps ensure the entire colony is impacted.

Step 4 - Colony Breakdown

Over time, the foam's active ingredient works to eliminate the termites. The affected termites are unable to continue their feeding behaviour, causing the colony to weaken and eventually collapse, including the queen, which stops future reproduction.

Step 5 - Monitoring and Follow-Up

Our technicians will conduct follow-up visits to monitor the progress of the treatment. During this time, we will assess whether further foam applications are needed to ensure the colony is entirely eradicated.

The Termite Dusting Process

Step1: Inspection and Identification

Our Technician begins with a detailed inspection of your property, identifying areas with active termite activity. Special attention is given to areas where termites are most likely to be feeding or nesting, such as in timer, walls, and subfloor areas.

Step 2: Application of Termite Dust

Once active termites are identified, we apply a specially formulated dust to the affected areas. The dust is carefully applied to termite galleries and other entry points where termites are known to travel.

Step 3: Dust Distribution and Termite Contact

The fine termite dust clings to the bodies of the termites as they move through the treated areas. As the termite come into contact with the dust, they carry it back to their colony, unknowingly contaminating other members, including the queen.

Step 4 - Colony Breakdown

Over time, the termites ingest or spread the dust, causing them to become paralysed and ultimately die. As the dust continues to circulate throughout the colony, it weakens the termite population, leading to to the eventual collapse of the colony.

Step 5 - Ongoing Monitoring and Adjustments

Our technicians will schedule follow-up visits to monitor the effectiveness of the dust treatment. If necessary, additional dust may be applied to areas showing continuing activity until the colony is fully eradicated.

Drill+and+Inject+Tree.jpg

The Termite Drill and Inject Trees Process

Step1: Initial  Assessment and Inspection

Our Technician conducts a thorough inspection to late areas of termite activity within or around trees. We assess the extent of the infestation and identify the specific trees that need treatment. This helps us plan the most effective approach for your property.

Step 2: Drill Access Holes

To begin the treatment, small, precise holes are drilled into the trunk or base of the infested tree. These holes are strategically placed where termite activity is most concentrated, allowing the treatment to reach deep into the tree where termites are active.

Step 3: Injection of Termite Treatment

Once the access holes are drilled, a specialised liquid termite treatment is injected directly into the tree. The liquid is carefully dispensed so it permeates the tree's wood, ensuring that termites come into contact with the treatment as they continue to feed.

Step 4 - Termite Exposure and Colony Spread

The termites inside the tree are exposed to the treatment as they feed and move throughout the tree. The active ingredient in the treatment disrupts their nervous system, causing them to die off gradually. As termites carry the treatment back to the colony, it begins to spread throughout, weakening and eventually eliminating the entire colony.

Step 5 - Monitoring and Follow-Up

After the initial treatment, our technicians will monitor the treated tree and surrounding areas for any signs of continuing termite activity. If necessary, we will return to reapply the treatment or adjust the treatment strategy to ensure the infestation is fully eradicated.

Moving Forward

Once the active termites have been eliminated, our Surekill Technician will discuss your options for ongoing termite protection. This includes quarterly or yearly termite inspection along with preventative measures, such as a termite monitoring system or chemical barrier, to safeguard your home from future termite infestations.
