What to Do If You Find Termites

Minimise Disturbance

Termites are shy and can retreat underground if disturbed. They may then reappear in a 360-degree radius around your property.

Avoid DIY Treatments

Do not use store-bought insect sprays or fly sprays. These may kill the termites you see but will scare the rest deeper into your property, causing them to reappear nearby, undetected.

Call the Experts

Contact Surekill Pest Control if you have signs of active termite infestation. Our technicians have in-depth knowledge of termite activity and will create a thorough eradication program tailored to your home's needs.

The Termite Baiting Process

At Surekill, our termite baiting process targets and eliminates active termite colonies directly, providing a safe and effective way to eradicate the destructive pests.

Step1: Assessment and Bait Placement

Our Technician will carefully inspect areas of active termite infestation. Once identified, we will place specially designed bait directly in these locations where termites are actively feeding. This bait is made from a material termites find irresistible and contains a slow-acting ingredient that affects their ability to survive.

Step 2: Termite Feeding and Colony Spread

Termites feed on the bait and unknowingly carry it back to their colony. Since the active ingredient works gradually, it gives termites time to share the bait with the rest of the colony. This ensures that it reaches the queen and other essential members of the colony.

Step 3: Colony Elimination

As more termites consume the bait, the colony begins to weaken and eventually collapse. The queen's elimination ensures the colony cannot repopulate, completely eradicating the infestation.

Step 4 - Checking Progress

Our Technicians will follow up with regular checks to ensure that the termites are continuing to feed on the bait. Adjustments may be made to maintain bait placement in areas of ongoing activity until the colony is fully eliminated.

Step 5 - Future Protection

After the termites have been eradicated, we will discuss options to prevent future infestations, ensuring your property remains protected from any future termite threats.

Moving Forward

Once the active termites have been eliminated, our Surekill Technician will discuss your options for ongoing termite protection. This includes a yearly termite inspection along with preventative measures, such as a termite monitoring system or chemical barrier, to safeguard your home from future termite infestations.
